  • Ashley Creighton

    Ashley Creighton is a Niskayuna native who graduated from Catholic Central HS in 2012. Ashley went on the play college basketball at Schenectady County Community College where she was ranked #2 in the nation for 3 point percentage. After graduating with her associates degree she went on to play collegiate basketball at SUNY Cobleskill. In Ashley’s two years at SUNY Cobleskill, she scored over 1,000 points and was named Captain of her team.

    Not only did Ashley excel on the court, she was also an excellent student. She received Deans List for four consecutive semesters and earned Northeastern Athletic Conference scholar-athlete awards for two years in a row, as well as a National Student Athlete award.

    After graduating with a degree in Business Administration, Ashley started her career as an Executive Assistant at Foresters Financial and is now a Sales Representative for Empire Merchants North.

  • Bill Creighton Jr

    Billy graduated from Christian Brothers Academy in 2009. He began his baseball career at Schenectady County Community College as a two-way player (pitcher and catcher). He was named 1st team All-Conference catcher and 2nd team All-Region catcher. His sophomore year he was named 1st team All-Conference Pitcher with a .91 Era and a career batting average of .394. He was named to the 2011 and 2012 NJCAA All American First Team, 2011 Region III Division III Player of the Year and SCCC 2011 and 2012 Student Athlete of the Year. Played at Division I UNC Asheville his 2012 and 2013 season where he led the team in RBI (32) and was second in home runs (6)…Tied for lead in doubles (10)…Third in batting average (.306)…Fourth in slugging percentage (.481). He was named Big South Player of the Week for the week of 2/20/12. He finished his senior year with a 2.62 ERA

    He currently plays in the Albany Twilight league and works as a Sales Representative at Empire Merchants North.

    Casey attended Colonie Central High School where she recorded 190 career strikeouts. She was named Suburban Council Pitcher of the Year her senior season. She also led the Raiders to a Suburban Council Championship as a junior.

    Casey went on to attend the University of North Carolina Wilmington. Casey recorded 139 strikeouts, the third highest single-season total in school history … Ranked third in the CAA in strikeouts … Matched school record with 12 strikeouts against Coastal Carolina … Named CAA Rookie-of-the-Week on May 6 after pitching eight no-hit innings in loss against NCAA Super Regional qualifier Hofstra during her sophomore year.

    Casey made 31 appearances and 26 starts in the circle for the Seahawks … Led pitching staff in nearly every statistical category, including wins (10), complete games (13), innings pitched (158.0) and strikeouts (114) … Became just the ninth player in program history to record 100 strikeouts in a season … Ranked fifth in the league in that category … Named CAA Pitcher-of-the-Week on Feb. 12 … Struck out season-high 10 batters in complete-game victory against Liberty during her junior year. Casey was also named Second-Team All-CAA and was also recognized for her work in the classroom as she was named to the CAA’s All-Academic Team.

    Casey currently is a 5th grade teacher at South Colonie CSD.

  • Steve Checksfield

    Steve attended the State University of Albany where he holds the single season records in Homeruns, RBI’s and runs saved. He was named the Rookie of the Year in 1998 and was the College Athlete of the Year in 2001. He was drafted by the Houston Astro’s in the 12th round in 2001. He played 3 ½ years with them making it to Double –A. There he was named the Mid-West League All-Star and was the MVP of the Mid-West All-star game. He left the Astros for a Double A Independent team in New Jersey. Here he was second in the league with triples(9) and was top 15 in every offensive category. Steve has been an instructor in Hitting, Fielding and Pitching for more than 15 years.
